LoOx™ Treatments
Oxidation-resistant treatment for graphite parts, applied to extend service life and surface integrity in oxygen-exposed processes.
Protect Graphite Where Oxygen is in Play
Graphite can oxidize when exposed to oxygen at elevated temperatures. Our proprietary LoOx™ treatment helps reduce oxidation on many graphite components, supporting longer service intervals and cleaner surfaces. LoOx™ is available from our U.S. and Brazilian facilities and can be integrated into your machining workflow with masking and documentation to your print.
Where LoOx™ Fits
Extend durability on common parts exposed to oxygen
We apply LoOx™ to a wide range of graphite products when the service environment includes oxygen exposure. We’ll review geometry, surface finish, and any functional faces to confirm suitability.
- EDM electrodes (review by operation/finish requirements)
- Mechanical carbon components (bushings, seal rings, vanes—case-by-case)
- Graphite insulation components (selected surfaces; depends on facing/laminate)
- Fixtures, shields, and process tooling exposed to air
How We Recommend It
Treatment that respects your tolerances
LoOx™ is scheduled into the routing so finished parts meet your spec. We mask critical features as required, protect sealing and datum faces, and package treated parts to preserve surfaces in transit.
- Pre-review of drawings to define mask/allowance strategy
- Application after machining (unless otherwise specified)
- Protection of sealing faces, datum features, and critical IDs/ODs
- Clean handling and packaging to maintain treated surfaces
What You Can Expect
LoOx™ helps reduce oxidation on exposed graphite, supporting cleaner, more stable surfaces and longer intervals between replacements.
Actual results depend on temperature, atmosphere, duty cycle, and part design.
- Helps reduce oxidation in processes with air/oxygen exposure
- Supports surface integrity and dimensional stability over time
- Complements good practice (fit, sealing, and installation)
Is LoOx™ Right for Your Part?
Share your print, service atmosphere, temperature range, and any faces that must remain untreated. We’ll review compatibility, outline masking, and quote the machining and LoOx™ route from our U.S. or Brazilian facility.
