Mechanical Carbon

Custom-machined carbon/graphite wear parts—bearings, bushings, seal rings, and vanes, built to print with the dimensional tolerances and finishes your equipment requires.

Built for Motion. Machined for Life.

At Ei6 we machine mechanical carbon and graphite grade including resin- and antimony-impregnated options into precise, repeatable wear-resistant. From thin-wall bushings to lapped seal faces, our focus is dimensional control, surface integrity, and clean installation that stabilize wear-in.

Parts We Machine

Wear components for pumps, compressors, and process equipment

Whether you’re replacing a like-for-like part or improving service behavior, we machine to your print and kit by assembly for straightforward installs.

  • Bearings & bushings (sleeve, flanged, split; thin-wall capable)
  • Seal rings & thrust faces (lapping available)
  • Vanes, rotors, thrust washers, guide rings
  • Grooves, ports, and oil slots; chamfers and radii to spec
  • Serialization, engraving, and kit labeling by position

How We Machine Mechanical Carbon

Geometry, finish, and edge integrity

Mechanical carbon can micro-chip if it’s not fixtured and fed correctly. We tune tooling, feeds, and support to protect edges and deliver the geometry your seals and shafts rely on.

  • Tight control on ID/OD, roundness, concentricity, and runout
  • Face flatness and parallelism for reliable sealing; lapped finishes on request
  • Surface finish to spec (Ra), with protected edges and precise chamfers/radii
  • Clean, graphite-managed machining and packaging that protects sealing faces

Materials and Impregnations

Match grade to media and duty

We work with carbon/graphite and electrographite grades in resin-impregnated, antimony-impregnated, and unimpregnated forms to balance permeability, strength, and wear for your service conditions.

  • Resin-impregnated: improved strength and permeability control for liquid service
  • Antimony-impregnated: added load capacity and wear resistance in demanding duty
  • Unimpregnated: self-lubricating behavior for dry or marginal-lube environments

Tell us your media, temperature, speed, pressure, and counterface; we’ll recommend a path.

Operational Gains from Precision Mechanical Carbon Machining

Well-made parts seat and seal faster, run truer, and wear in predictably—reducing unplanned stops and rework.

  • Faster installs with parts that fit and align
  • Lower leakage risk via flat, clean sealing faces
  • Shorter run-in and more stable wear patterns
  • Interchangeable spares supported by repeatable tolerances

Quality, Documentation, and Support

Every order runs through a preemptive quality program. Shipments include clear IDs and lot traceability; on request we provide first-article checks, measurement reports (ID/OD, roundness, runout, face flatness/parallelism, Ra), and impregnation verification for resin/antimony grades. Certificates of Conformance are available, and kitting/serialization plus protective packaging keep sealing faces and edges safe for a clean start-up.

Share your application details—media, temperature, pressure/velocity, counterface material, and any failure modes you’re trying to solve. We’ll recommend a grade/impregnation and machine a first article to your tolerances.
