Porous Carbon & Porous Graphite

Reliable, engineered porosity for controlled flow, stable performance, and clean machining. Choose porous carbon or porous graphite in matched 100/150 pore classes, in stock, consistent properties, and ready to machine to print.

Controlled flow. Clean machining.

Get predictable permeability and stable performance in vacuum or inert atmospheres. We machine blocks and rounds to your print, controlling thickness/flatness and protecting edges so parts install cleanly.

Ei6 porous materials support demanding furnace processes, including SiC single-crystal growth, at temperatures up to 2650 °C in vacuum or inert gas atmospheres.

Material Families & Grades

Two paths. One clear selection.

Pick the pore class for flow (100 vs. 150), then choose the material family for thermal behavior (PC vs. PG).
We machine to print and keep the process straightforward from quote to delivery.

  • 100 = higher flow; 150 = finer control
  • PC = lower thermal conductivity; PG = higher thermal conductivity
  • Blocks and rounds in inventory for immediate delivery

Porous Carbon
(PC-100, PC-150)

Controlled porosity with cooler-running bodies

Choose Porous Carbon when you want predictable flow and naturally lower thermal conductivity through the part—useful for fixtures, gas distribution, and thermal process components that shouldn’t act as heat highways. Tell us your environment and geometry; we’ll recommend the pore class and finishing approach.

  • Two pore classes for easy tuning (100 for flow, 150 for control)
  • Clean, consistent machinability for precise features
  • Available in standard blocks and rounds; extended lengths on request

Porous Graphite
(PG-100, PG-150)

Fine, uniform porosity with higher thermal conductivity

Choose Porous Graphite when faster heat equalization across the part is beneficial. You’ll get the same clear 100/150 selection logic with predictable flow behavior and strength that machines cleanly for precise features.

  • Two pore classes for easy tuning (100 for flow, 150 for control)
  • Higher thermal conductivity vs. PC for quicker thermal balance
  • Durable, clean machinability for intricate geometries
  • Available in standard blocks and rounds; extended lengths on request
  • Provides low mass furnace fixturing

Quality, Documentation, and Support

Each shipment is traceable by material family and pore class, and we can include first-article verification with a dimension map, thickness/flatness checks across the panel, and critical feature locations.

When requested, we reference supplier data to confirm the specified pore class (e.g., nominal density/permeability window) and note any treatments applied to reduce dusting. Parts can be serialized and kitted by position, clean-bagged for vacuum service, and packed to protect edges and faces so they arrive ready for install.
