Intumescent systems, fire-resistant seals, and gasketing
Expandable graphite is a practical additive where a heat-activated volume increase helps block heat and airflow. Use it in intumescent coatings and compounds, fire-resistant seals and gasket sheets, and other systems that benefit from expansion and layered barrier formation. Fine cuts support smooth films and tight dispersion; coarser fractions provide structure where sheet strength matters.

Choose the expansion range your system needs, then pick the mesh that disperses cleanly and meets your film build or sheet requirements. Our grades are specified with clear expansion (cc/g) minimums, mesh distributions, moisture limits, and pH windows to keep mixing and cure predictable.
- Expansion: e.g., ≥300 cc/g (1050-E) or ≥200 cc/g (1060-E, 1080-E).
- Mesh: e.g., >50 mesh ≥70% (1050-E); >80 mesh ≥80% (1060-E/1080-E).
- Moisture and pH: moisture ≤1% with pH ~6.5–7.5 typical, supporting stable handling and cure windows.

Each shipment includes lot traceability with grade, expansion level, and mesh distribution. On request, we provide moisture, pH, and particle size distribution (PSD) confirmations, plus Certificates of Conformance aligned to your receiving requirements. If you’re qualifying a new intumescent or seal recipe, our team can suggest a starting grade and cut and provide first-article documentation.
